At Shadow Theatre Verba, we constantly strive to create captivating performances that mesmerize and delight audiences. In December 2017, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase our talent at a private event for the esteemed company Orange in Bucharest, Romania. With the event’s creative concept revolving around the theme of “Perspective,” our 7-minute performance beautifully complemented the overarching idea of embracing change, technology, and a better tomorrow.

The Evolution of Architecture

To embody the concept of development in architecture throughout history, our performance began with a delicate interplay of hands, gradually forming the iconic figure of the Acropolis. This visually represented the roots of architectural marvels that have shaped civilizations over time. With each graceful movement, we transported the audience through the ages, showcasing the magnificent Taj Mahal, the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China, and the timeless Pyramids of Egypt.

Embracing the Future

As the performance progressed, we seamlessly transitioned from the grandeur of historical architecture to the promise of the future. Our next figure materialized into the iconic symbol of the Eiffel Tower, representing the fusion of art, innovation, and progress. This was followed by the portrayal of a bustling cityscape, complete with towering skyscrapers, embodying the ever-changing nature of our urban landscapes.

Shadows gracefully transformed into people engrossed in their daily routines, symbolized by suitcases and mobile phones. The performance showcased a car without a driver, signifying the advancements in autonomous vehicles. A person then returned home, where a smart house awaited, seamlessly controlled by a phone and operated with the touch of a hand. This portrayal highlighted the endless possibilities of a connected future.

Concluding our performance, we embarked on a breathtaking journey beyond the confines of Earth. Through the figure of a spaceship, we symbolized humanity’s relentless quest for exploration and discovery.
